Toxic Plastics
Everyone is beginning to realize that plastics are toxic-with the “spin” recently being focused on BPA in baby bottles and tinned foods liners. Unfortunately, the marketing and media companies do not go into great detail about the real dangers of all plastics! The numbers on the plastic bottles were NEVER intended to classify safety levels of plastics and are an indicator for recycling purposes only. So, when people say to me – “oh it’s a number whatever it’s safe” I cringe.
There are hundreds of thousands of products we have CREATED and INVENTED that contain plastics and we use everyday. Plastics take about 1000 years to fully go away, we think. And they are constantly giving off toxic chemicals as they do so. In a VERY interesting documentary recently the CBC’s “The Disappearing Male” documentary tells it as it is. Plastics are killing our male unborn children and causing the 200% rise in genital defects. In locations where there are factories making plastics the people that live around them are being affected. It sounds almost too scary to be true! Just do a little research yourself and find out the truth.
The breach of global security has already been broken in regards to the life sustaining air, water and soil that is being and will be contaminated during breakdown. My dear friends, making MORE is not the answer – and recycling plastics is dangerous business. We must stop using it as much as possible (on an individual level) and limit the contact we have with it. Refuse to buy certain items and go back and check what we previously used for the same purpose. Buy wax paper! We are NOT considering seven generations right now let alone our babies that are being born right now!
Not only do we let our babies play with the toxic plastic duck (many are PVC) we grow our ORGANIC FOOD in toxic plastic film houses called “ greenhouses” the film used instead of glass is very dangerous. The four films that are generally used are LDPE (Low density Polyethylene) or type 4, PVC (Polyvinylchloride) or type 3*, PC (Polycarbonate) which contains the now famous BPA classified as type 7 which means “other” and includes the worse and the safe bio plastics and PE Polyethylene or type 1. What is this plastic doing to the food and the people working in these greenhouses has never even been studied. BUT we do know that plastic is not safe and we all know now what a plastic bottle with water in it does in a car that is heated and we drink it- CANCER!
